खगोल, धातु, प्रकाशिकी विज्ञान के वैश्विक इतिहास तथा भारत के वर्णमाला लेखन और ज्ञान प्रणालियों के इतिहास के लिए निरुक्त का महत्व

निरुक्त की रचना का श्रेय आचार्य यास्क को जाता है। यास्क नाम पाणिनि की अष्टाध्यायी में प्रमाणित है।  कल्याणसुंदरम (2020ए) के तालिका एक (कल्याणसुंदरम 2020ए:12-15) में निरुक्त की शताब्दी पर कुछ विचारों का सर्वेक्षण है । कल्याणसुंदरम (2020बी) के पृष्ठभूमि नामक उपखंड (कल्याणसुंदरम 2020बी 2-3) में स्पष्टीकरण है कि यह विचार करना अकादमिक रूप से अनुचित क्यों नहीं है कि निरुक्त छठी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व या उससे पहले का था।

उपरोक्त पृष्ठभूमि के साथ, आइए अब हम खगोल विज्ञान, धातु विज्ञान और प्रकाशिकी विज्ञान के वैश्विक इतिहास तथा भारत के वर्णमाला लेखन और ज्ञान प्रणालियों के इतिहास के लिए निरुक्त के महत्व को देखें।

  1. खगोल विज्ञान: डैनियल ग्राहम [Daniel Graham] ने “हेलिओफोटिज्म” [Heliophotism] की खोज का श्रेय परमेनाइड्स को दिया है[1] । स्टैनफोर्ड इनसाइक्लोपीडिया ऑफ फिलॉसफी (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy) के अनुसार परमेनाइड्स [Parmenides] पांचवीं शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व के शुरुआती भाग में सक्रिय थे[2]। लेकिन छठी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व (या उससे पहले) निरुक्त “हेलिओफोटिज्म” (Heliophotism) के बारे में जागरूकता की पुष्टि करता है[3]। अधिक विवरण के लिए कल्याणसुंदरम (2020ए) में पृष्ठ 1-10 देखें।
  1. धातु विज्ञान: टेरेंस बेल [Terrence Bell] का मत है कि कुप्रो निकेल {सफेद तांबा} [Cupro Nickel {White Copper}] का पहला ज्ञात उपयोग 300 ईसा पूर्व में चीन में हुआ था[4]। लेकिन छठी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व (या उससे पहले) निरुक्त “कंसं”[5] शब्द की पुष्टि करता है जिसे सरूप ने सफेद तांबे के रूप में अनुवादित किया है। अधिक विवरण के लिए कल्याणसुंदरम (2020बी) में पृष्ठ 4-8 देखें।
  1. प्रकाशिकी विज्ञान: एंड्रयू एन शेरवुड [Andrew N Sherwood] के पुस्तक में[6] (और अन्य शोध पत्रों मैं भी[7]) “बर्निंग ग्लास” [“Burning glass”] की खोज का श्रेय अरिस्टोफेन्स [Aristophanes] को दिया गया है। यह खोज ईसा पूर्व की मानी जाती है। लेकिन छठी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व (या उससे पहले) निरुक्त “बर्निंग ग्लास” [“Burning glass”] की जागरूकता की पुष्टि करता है[8]। अधिक विवरण के लिए कल्याणसुंदरम (2020बी) में पृष्ठ 3-4 देखें।
  1. भारत में वर्णमाला लेखन का इतिहास: डोमिनिक वुजास्तिक [Dominik Wujastyk] और कुछ अन्य लोगों के अनुसार साउथ एशिया [South Asia] में “वर्णमाला लेखन” (alphabetical writing) तीसरी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व में शुरू हुआ था[9]। लेकिन छठी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व (या उससे पहले) निरुक्त “ग्रन्थं”[10] शब्द को प्रमाणित करता है। अधिक विवरण के लिए कल्याणसुंदरम (2020ए) में पृष्ठ 20-21 देखें।
  1. भारतीय ज्ञान प्रणालियों का इतिहास: छठी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व (या उससे पहले) निरुक्त “विद्यास्थानं”[11] और “व्याकरण”[12] तथा वेदांग[13] शब्दों को प्रमाणित करता है। छठी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व (या उससे पहले) में इन शब्दों के सत्यापन का महत्व स्वयं स्पष्ट होना चाहिए।

उपरोक्त बिंदुओं से खगोल विज्ञान, धातु विज्ञान और प्रकाशिकी विज्ञान के वैश्विक इतिहास और भारत के वर्णमाला लेखन और ज्ञान प्रणालियों के इतिहास के लिए निरुक्त का महत्व स्पष्ट होना चाहिए। जहाँ तक मैं  देख पाया हूँ, कल्याणसुंदरम (2020 ए, बी) से पहले किसी भी प्रकाशन ने उपर्युक्त तुलनात्मक विश्लेषणों के आधार पर उपर्युक्त मामलों को प्रस्तुत नहीं किया है [14]
