Festival to celebrate Jaganmāta is right around the corner. Get ready to showcase your creativity and enthusiasm this navarātri. The nine glorious nights are celebrated in vibrant ways through the length and breadth of India in the form of Mysore Dasara, Gombe Habba, Bomma Gullu or Golu, Āyudha Pooja, Dhāndiya Rās or Garbha , Ramlila and Durga Pujo.

We at IndicA Today are excited to be part of your celebrations this navarātri. We are announcing ‘Rāsa Rīti’, a video contest wherein you can display your Navarātri celebrations on our platform. All you have to do is submit video entries capturing your festivities.

Rāsa stands for Rāsa Kreeda, the joyful dance of Bhagwan Shri Krishna with his Gopis. The circular dance form is practiced even to this day in the form of Garbha or Dandiya Raas in the west and  Manipuri Raas Leela in the east of India.

Rīti stands for custom, practice, local or traditional observance. Vijayadashami symbolizing the victory of good over evil is joyfully celebrated through Ramlila in the north and Dasara in the south.
