Indic Academy has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal for the revival of the Gurukul system of education and the Shastra examinations.
Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal was founded in the year 1969 with the objective of accomplishing national resurgence in the field of education by woorking on a National Education Policy, Curriculum, System & Methodology based on Bharatiya ethos. BSM envisages to accomplish its objectives through a five dimensional framework which includes Anusandhan (Research), Prabodhan (Awareness), Prashikshan (Orientation), Prakashan (Publication) and Sangathan (Networking). BSM is striving to re-establish the Bharatiya Education System and for this, it is important to bring in the Gurukul System of Education to the mainstream. BSM believes that Gurukul system can once again be the main education system in India.
Indic Academy is a non-profit dedicated to bring about a global renaissance based on Indic civilisational thought. IA seeks to preserve, protect and promote Indic Knowledge systems across intellectual, cultural and spiritual facets. Indic Academy has established a Inter Gurukula- University Center for Indic Knowledge Systems. Through IGUC-IKS, IA seeks to establish a Gurukul, and an Inter University Center for the purposes of bridging and advancing traditional studies of Shastras, Indic Knowledge Systems and Indology.
BSM and Indic Academy are interested in working together towards some common goals. BSM has the expertise to deliver traditional knowledge and has experience in establishing and managing Gurukuls. Indic Academy has the desire to preserve traditional shastra studies and has the required infrastructural and financial resources for the same.
As a part of the MoU, IA will facilitate examinations of Shastra Students, support traditional Shastra Teachers, provide infrastructural and financial support in various activities related to shastra Studies. The BSM will facilitate Indic academy increasing its reach by providing subject-matter experts such as traditional Vedic and Shastra teachers, Agnihotra and Ayurveda Practitioners. It will also provide support in establishment and administration of a proposed Vedic Gurukul at Telangana State and in organizing and conducting shastra examinations in the traditional way at the Gurukul.
