Kamala Srinivas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Empowered Autonomous), Sion (West), Mumbai, affiliated to University of Mumbai for the past 19 years teaching UG courses and 10 years PG courses. She is a recognized Ph.D. Guide. Her Ph.D. is in Philosophy, her Thesis Title is Environmental Concern of Rabindranath Tagore and Kwasi Wiredu: A cross-cultural Philosophical Analysis. Her areas of special interest are Socio-political Philosophy, Greek & Medieval Philosophy, Indian & Western Philosophy, Living Ethical Issues, Plato’s Republic, Formal Logic & Social Psychology.
Invited as resource person for Post Graduate Diploma Course in counseling engages lectures in topics like Emotional Intelligence, Dealing with Difficult People, How to be assertive?, soft skills development, yoga and health.
Recipient of a Silver Medal at the University Level in the AVISHKAR University Research Convention organized by University of Mumbai in 2015-2016. Completed University Minor Research Project on ‘Soul Force and Reality in the Philosophical Insights of Rabindranath Tagore and Muhammad Iqbal’ in 2015.
Participated and presented varieties of paper in many national and international seminars and conferences. My paper on Cultural Relativism: An Indo-African perspective in communication, got selected in the XXIII World Congress of Philosophy, Athens.
She has hosted and has been the organizing member of National and International seminars/ conferences, some of themes are ‘Revisiting Vedanta in 21st Century,’ ‘Chanakya’s Wisdom: its relevance today,’ ‘Indian Music: Cultural and Philosophical Perspectives,’ ‘Yoga Upasana.’
