Indic Today and Indic Book Club are looking to hire jointly a full time Sub-editor and Social Media in-charge.
For the Indic Today website job responsibilities include:
- Write pieces detailing upcoming events and workshops of Indic Today.
- Edit submitted pieces for grammar and copy writing etc.
- Maintain correspondence with authors and workshop participants.
- Promote Indic Today on social media including Twitter, FB, Instagram and other popular sites.
- Report status and progress on a biweekly basis.
- Provide and implement suggestions for the promotion of IBC on social media and other platforms – online and offline.
For the Indic Book Club platform following are the job responsibilities:
- Use the IBC site and its social media properties – on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram – to drive engagement with the IBC platform
- Monitor discussion boards. Tweet and post to Facebook interesting discussion threads. Report online abuse for appropriate action.
- Monitor IBC Twitter, Facebook and Instagram feeds for book suggestions, feedback, bugs, and promote relevant tweets.
- Tweet and post on Facebook and Instagram content updates from IBC
- Craft book giveaways and contest after discussion – a feature to enable this is being built.
- Post author updates.
- Test site and new features.
- Report status and progress on a biweekly basis.
- Provide and implement suggestions for the promotion of IBC on social media and other platforms – online and offline.
Qualification Requirements
Decent knowledge of Indic thought process, Sanskrit Granthas, Indic History will be preferred. A basic knowledge of Sanskrit is preferable and good command over English is necessary. The candidate Should be able to think laterally and vertically so as to create cross posts for both platforms and generate interest in both platforms.
Requirements on the Technical side
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, email and any preferred photo-editor
- Ability to work multiple social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram to create viral posts.
- Some knowledge of aggregation platforms like Tweetdeck and Buffer
- Ability to use platforms like Mailchimp to generate short, frequent, engaging newsletters to maximize engagement.
- Ability to track metrics on social media platforms and tweak content based on trends.
