Indic Academy organised its first Heritage walk in the city of Coimbatore on 8th July 2018. The Heritage Walk was organised by Indica Coimbatore and was lead by Rajesh Govindarajulu, Coimbatore’s own historian. The two hour long Heritage walk was organised around the Race Course road which boasts of interesting historical sites such as The Masonic Hospital, The Cosmopolitan Club, the magnificent shell of Sulur House and homes of erstwhile and current bigwigs of the city’s industries, to name a few.
On 20th July 2018, Indica Coimbatore organised a Heritage Walk led by city historian Rajesh Govindarajulu. The two hour long informative and engaging Heritage walk was organised for the school students of CS Academy. The Heritage Walk began at the Sringeri Shardabal Temple and was organised around the historical Race Course road.
Indica Madurai organised a Heritage Walk around the Meenakshi Amman temple led by temple historian and author Ambai Manivannan. The three hour Heritage Walk discussed in detail the temple history, architecture, legends, historical rule, Sthala Puranam and other intricate details of the world famous Meenakshi Amman temple. The Heritage Walk began in front of the Amman Sannithi if the historic temple and covered the entire temple complex, which is approximately around 14 acres.
