Positions Available at Indic Today and Indic Academy

Indic Today and Indic Academy is looking to hire a full time Editor/Sub-editor and a Social Media in-charge respectively.  The full time Editor/Sub-Editor position is for Mumbai location and the Social Media in-charge position is for Hyderabad.

Editor/Sub-editor Position 

Job responsibilities

  •  Edit submitted pieces for grammar and copy writing etc.
  • Generate content for Indic Today in consultation with its Editors.
  • Use the Indic Today site and its social media properties – on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram – to drive engagement with the Indic Today platform.
  • Write newsletter for its subscription lists.
  • Report status and progress on a biweekly basis.
  • Provide and implement suggestions for the promotion of Indic Today on social media and other platforms – online and offline.

Qualification Requirements

Decent knowledge of Indic thought process, Sanskrit Granthas, Indic History will be preferred. A basic knowledge of Sanskrit is preferable and good command over English is necessary. The candidate should be able to think laterally and vertically so as to create cross posts for Indic Academy and Indic Today  and generate interest in both platforms.  Working knowledge of Word Editor,  Photo editing tools and Publishing tools necessary. Location can be relaxed for the Editor/Sub-editor position based on experience, knowledge and abilities.

Social Media In-Charge 

Job Description 

  • Write pieces detailing upcoming events and workshops of Indic Today.
  • Write pieces detailing event and workshop reports.
  • Maintain correspondence with authors and workshop participants.
  • Promote Indic Academy and its allied platforms such as Indic Today, Indic Book Club on social media including Twitter, FB, Instagram and other popular sites.
  • Report status and progress on a biweekly basis.
  • Provide and implement suggestions for the promotion of Indic Academy activities on social media and other platforms – online and offline.
  • Create awareness content based on videos and articles published via various platforms of Indic Academy.

Qualification Requirements

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, email and any preferred photo-editor
  • Ability to work multiple social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram to create viral posts.
  • Some knowledge of aggregation platforms like Tweetdeck and Buffer
  • Ability to use platforms like Mailchimp to generate short, frequent, engaging newsletters to maximize engagement.
  • Ability to track metrics on social media platforms and tweak content based on trends.
