Essay Competition On Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya

Indica Moksha (Advaita Academy) invites entries for an essay competition as part of the Global Festival of Oneness 2022 celebrating the life and works of Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya.

Adi Shankaracharya is the greatest exponent of Advaita Vedanta, the school of thought that highlights the oneness of individual and Brahman.

His major works are the commentaries on Bhagavad Gita, major Upanishads and Brahma Sutra, preliminary Vedanta texts such as Upadesha Sahasri, Vivekachudamani, Atmabodha and Aparokshanubhuti. He has also composed hundreds of devotional hymns such as Soundaryalahiri and Subramanya Bhujanga.

Adi Shankaracharya’s influence has not only been on Advaita Vedanta but on entire Hinduism. He established four Mathas in four parts of India to promote the practice of Sanatana Dharma.

Medium of Essay: English

Words:  1000-1500

Age Eligibility: 15-30 years

Last Date for Submission: May 25, 2022

Three winners will be picked at the end of the festival and their works will be published in Indica Today. They will also be given a cash prize of Rs. 2000/-
