Indigenous Environmentalism

Indic Academy’s Inter Gurukula-University Center is happy to announce the ‘Conference on Indigenous Environmentalism for Scholars and Saviours’, and invite papers for the same. The Conference is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on 28th March, 2020. The conference is being curated by Dr. Nagraj Paturi (Director of Inter Gurukul- University Center, Indic Academy).

Indigenous EnvironmentalismIt focuses on exploring Vedic, Buddhist, Jain, Folk, Tribal, and Pagan Traditions of Environmentalism. Conference aims at exploring indigenous eco-friendly, environment-sustaining world views and ideologies; and join global efforts to save our environment by bringing Indic and Pagan traditions on the same platform.


Indigenous Environmentalism

Broad themes for the conference:

1. Environmentalist aspects, contemporary ideas, and comparative study of such ideas with reference to different Pagan traditions around the world.

2. Environmentalist aspects, contemporary ideas, and comparative study of Vedic, Non-Vedic (Buddhist, Jain), Folk, and Tribal traditions.

3. Scope for building Environmentalist ideas and actions around Vedic, Non-Vedic (Buddhist, Jain), Folk, Tribal, and Pagan traditions, individually and jointly with the  contemporary Environmentalist  ideas and actions around the world.

Important Dates:

Abstracts may be submitted to namaste@indica.org.in by 5th March, 2020.

Full papers may be submitted by 15th March, 2020.
