Storytelling Through the Ages: Unveiling its Value as a Pedagogical Tool in India’s Educational Heritage

Fenal P. Shah along with his team members – Dr. Shruti Sinha, Gaurang Bhatt and Manisha Dhiman Fenal P. Shah is presently working as Innovation & Human skills Lead for Talent & Transformation at a large MNC. He has over 24 years of profound professional IT experience including Learning & Talent Transformation. He has spent 8 years in the United States working directly with the client & customers. He is accredited Business Storytelling, Innovation, Design Thinking & Creativity Coach with deep propensity in Philosophy & Spirituality. He has mentored, facilitated, and shaped multiple business Storytelling and Innovation workshops for his clients and thousands of executives tied to specific outcomes. Several programs led by him,and the Business Storytelling framework developed under his Leadership has won Gold & Silver Titles in Brandon Hall Excellence awards 2023, 2022 and 2021 for Best Unique or Innovative Leadership Program. In April’23, he was invited by the prestigious SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) to share insightful approach to ‘Storytelling in Business’ with Mumbai & Delhi divisions of PGPGM Course during their Immersion Sessions at Mumbai Campus. The session focused on important elements of Storytelling like why stories are relevant in business and how participants can create their own Pitch Story leveraging frameworks of Elevator Pitch & Influence Story. He has also conducted Business Story-telling session with immersive engagement and activities for 350+ MBA students at SPJIMR in Feb’23. Additionally, he has conducted multiple sessions related to Indian philosophy and culture at various venues including select US universities, NMIMS – Mumbai, campuses of prestigious schools etc. He has completed two years post-graduation cultural course at Tattwajnana Vidyapeeth, Thane post his graduation in Engineering. This institute was established by Pujya Pandurang Shastri Athavale (Pujya Dadaji) to create youths with integrated personality & vibrant character through applied life-oriented education. The subjects covered were Indian & Western philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Ramayan & Mahabharat. Later, he completed a Masters in philosophy from Mumbai University
