Dr. Papia Mitra, Graduate and Post-Graduate in English from Jadavpur University, Ph.D in same from Rabindrabharati University is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of English, Surendranath College for Women, Kolkata, affiliated to Calcutta University. Her areas of research includes not only English literature but also gender, religion, philosophy, with special emphasis on Hindu scriptures and the epics. She has presented and published several papers on these subjects in various conferences and journals. At present she is on editorial Board of International Journal of Culture Studies and Social Sciences and Theatre International, both UGC-CARE listed journals.
