Essay Competition On The Occasion Of Janmāṣṭamī

“मज्जन्मकर्मकथनं ममपर्वानुमोदनम्”

“One should always discuss My birth and activities and take delight in participating in festivals, such as Janmāṣṭamī, which glorify My pastimes”, thus instructed Śrī Kṛṣṇa to Uddhava in his exposition of Bhakti-yoga in the canto XI of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Indica Today takes pleasure in joining the devotees across the globe in celebrating Janmāṣṭamī this year by organizing an essay competition centered around the pastimes, personality and the preeminence of Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

Works such as Mahābhārata, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam and Harivaṁśa not only assert the supremacy & the omnipotence of Śrī Kṛṣṇa but also present a vivid picture of the multifaceted and magnanimous of Śrī Kṛṣṇa – the Hero of Yaduvaṁśa and expound the transcendental meanings of His pastimes. These works have inspired literary and artistic creations across for over the last several centuries and continue to do so till date.

This essay competition is our humble effort to evoke the rasa of Kṛṣṇa-bhakti, which is best relished by the coming together of His devotees to discuss His unparalleled glories.
