When Rama questioned his preceptor Sage Vasistha about purpose of his useless existence, subsequent dialogue between them came to be known as Yoga Vasishta or MahaRamayana.
Swetha Prakash has authored the book Indian Storytelling Traditions (Authorspress, 2016). She has also won a grant from the Indic Academy to record Indic stories on Youtube. Swetha is the author of 11 other books – these include Indic books, children’s books, short story collections and a poetry collection. Swetha has been the recipient of the Times and Scottish Book Trust Jura New Writer Award and the Charles Wallace India Trust Award.
