Short-Term Scholarship Under The Tutelage Of Dr. (Mrs.) Gauri Mahulikar

In our constant pursuit of promotion and propagation of Indic studies and scholarship, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Short-term Research Fellowship in Indological research under the mentorship of eminent Sanskrit scholar Prof. Gauri Mahulikar, the Academic Director, Chinmaya International Foundation from April 2023.

Over the past several centuries, Indic Sastras such as Nyāya, Mīmāsā etc, have developed their unique and infallible systems of Research Methodology in their course of exposition of their principles and irrefutably establishing them. The revival of these and their application in the field of contemporary Indic research has been a long-standing demand from Indic scholars. As a step in this direction, the proposed fellowship has been conceived with a view to upskill aspiring researchers in the Indic systems of research methodology and in the long term create a new generation of Indic scholars possessed of an Indic research aptitude.

Two aspiring researchers will be selected as research fellows and will get an opportunity to assist Prof. Gauri Mahulikar in her numerous research projects covering the vast sphere of Sanskrit and Indic studies, especially in the proposed book on Research Methodology based Indic Knowledge Systems  and to receive her valuable guidance on the nuances of the different aspects of Indic research. The fellows will be especially involved in Prof. Mahulikar’s seminal work on Research Methodology based on Indic Śāstras that will  be published by IndicA.

During the period of fellowship, the fellows are required to stay at the Chinmaya International Foundation Campus, Veliyanadu, Ernakulam. The fellows will receive a fellowship amount of Rs. 20,000/- per month from the date of commencement of the fellowship till the period of its completion. Accommodation at CIF and food will be taken care of by IndicA Today. At the end of the fellowship, the scholars are expected to submit a publishable monograph based on the area of their expertise.
